Every once in a while, the internet does something truly magical - it brings the right people together at exactly the right time. That’s what happened when I shared an article on Macaroni KID Schaumburg about my daughter, Mackenzie. The story traveled far beyond Illinois, reaching families across the country… including one very special mom in Wisconsin through the Macaroni KID Madison publication.
That mom was Pam Blattner, founder of Limbitless Wisconsin - and from that moment, our worlds got a little smaller, a lot brighter, and infinitely more connected. Our daughters met, instantly clicked, and now Mackenzie has a new friend in Wisconsin… and I have a new mom friend, too. This is what community looks like.

🚀 Moving Wisconsin Forward: April 18 FORWARD Event

🏛️ Advocacy in Action: So Every BODY Can Move
Limbitless Wisconsin is working in partnership with the Amputee Coalition to bring So Every BODY Can Move legislation to Wisconsin - which has already passed in Illinois. Their goal: To clarify insurance coverage and make prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive devices more accessible to the nearly 115,000 Wisconsinites living with limb loss or limb difference.
This is the kind of advocacy that changes lives - and they’re leading the charge.
🤝 A Growing Friendship Between Our Communities
What started as a shared story online has grown into something so much bigger.
- Our girls became fast friends on a Disabed& Retreat in Nashville in December
- Our families are finding new ways to connect
- And our nonprofits are building bridges between Illinois and Wisconsin
We’re excited to welcome Limbitless Wisconsin families to Illinois for upcoming Limb Difference Collective Foundation events — and we’ll be heading north again soon to join them at the Dairyland Games just south of Madison. And you know we’ll be teaming up with Macaroni KID Madison WI to find all the best things to do while we’re there.
This is what happens when community meets purpose!
