Something spooky (and sweet) is heading to porches across Arlington Heights, Bloomingdale, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, and Streamwood - and I'm beyond excited to finally share it with you!
Introducing our very first Boo Bag Drop: a surprise delivery of Halloween treats and local love, showing up on 50 lucky doorsteps this October. It's small (on purpose - every good tradition starts somewhere!), it's homegrown, and it's exactly the kind of neighborly magic I love bringing to our community.
🍭 You're in for a Treat if you sign up!
Fifty families across our eight communities will get a doorbell-ring surprise packed with treats, activities, and goodies from businesses that love your kids as much as you do.
📅 Mark Your Calendar
- Sign-ups open: September 14
- Sponsor deadline: September 18
- Bags assembled: week of September 28
- Deliveries happen: October 3–11
Wait...What's a Boo Bag?
Think of it as a ding-dong-ditch, but the loot is candy, crafts, and coupons instead of eggs and TP. A bag full of Halloween fun shows up on your porch, the bell rings, and by the time you open the door, whoever delivered it is already three houses down giggling in the family car. (Ask me how I know.)
🎃 Now Boo It Forward!
Here's the best part: every bag comes with extra Boo flyers so the fun doesn't stop at your porch. Once you've been Boo'd, put together one or two surprises of your own and quietly deliver them to friends or neighbors — flyer included so they know to keep it going. Kindness (and a little harmless chaos) spreads all over our eight communities, one porch at a time.
👻 What Might Be Hiding Inside?
- Halloween treats and goodies
- Activities and toys the kids will actually use
- Offers and surprises from local businesses
Contents vary by bag — that's part of the fun!
How It Works

Own a Local Business? There's Still Room in the Bag.
This is our pilot year, which means it's the best time to get in on the ground floor of a tradition your business can grow with year after year. Sponsorship spots are open through September 18 — after that, the 50 bags are locked and loaded for assembly.
Fifty porches. Fifty surprises. One very excited publisher who can't wait to see the photos you'll post when that doorbell rings. Here's to starting something new together!
